After inspecting villages, the Joint Collector inspected some areas which were not clean. She explained the people the advantages of keeping surroundings clean and tidy and asked them to maintain their premises hygienic to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. By maintaining the surroundings neat and hygienic, people can improve their health and can lead a happy life. She advised the villagers to construct a soak pit in every house and not to allow rainwater to remain stagnant in vacant places. As it is rainy season, there will be chances of spread of seasonal disease. Vanja advised people not to allow water stagnation in their village at any cost. By increasing green cover, we will get plenty of fresh air in the future, otherwise a day will come people will have to buy fresh air for their survival. To overcome such a problem, everyone must actively participate in the Haritha Haram programme, she added.
